Fellowship and Scholar Program

I. The CHAMPS- (host institution) Pediatric Research Fellowship Program
This program is designed to offer opportunity for talented and promising young physicians or physician-scientists from China to receive sustained period of research training for intensive academic career development under the guidance of an experienced mentor, or sponsor, in the biomedical sciences and medicine. The duration of training in the US will be for 1-2 years, and will be continued in China for additional 2-3 years for a total of 3-5 years. The selected candidate will be designated as The CHAMPS- (host institution) Pediatric Rsearch Fellow.

II. The CHAMPS- (host institution) Pediatric Clinical Scholar Program
The program is designed to offer opportunity for Chinese physicians who have been in clinical practice between 3-10 years who wish to obtain additional clinical expertise in
specified subspecialty areas of interest. The selected candidate will be designated as the CHAMPS- (host institution) Pediatric Clinical Scholar in (Pediatric Subspecialty). The duration of the scholar program is 2-12 months.

III. The CHAMPS- (host institution) Pediatric Leadership Scholar Program
The program is designed to offer the opportunity for clinical leaders from China to visit major US pediatric institutions, network with clinical leaders from those institutions, and
participate in workshop in management and leadership skills training. The selected candidate will be designated as the CHAMPS- (host institution) Pediatric Leadership Scholar in (Pediatric Subspecialty). The duration of the Leadership Scholar Program is for a period of 2-10 weeks, and this may be combined with selected features of the Clinical Scholar Program including additional time, as needed. The co-sponsoring Chinese institutions will agree to fund the Leadership Scholar Program in its entirety including living expenses, all travel expenses as well as health insurance, fees for courses and other related educational expenses.
